Like its luxurious location, the circus festival exudes elegance and style that is unique to the circus world. Prince Rainier III created the event. Likewise, H.S.H Princess Stephanie is now committed to maintaining the traditions of the circus. Therefore, you will still see exotic animals like lions and elephants, as well as a ringmaster, gravity-defying acrobatics and innovative comedy shows.

The program is a mix of classical and contemporary, and it has become the largest and most prestigious event in the circus world. Each year, artists from across the globe vie for the coveted Golden Clown, the most sought-after reward for the art of circus.
A highlight of this, the 43rd annual festival, will be the Royal Circus of Gia Eradze. It will feature 68 artists and dancers dressed in stunning haute couture pieces. They will be competing against the likes of bison trainers from Chile and a fourth-generation Portuguese circus clown.

In addition, the Principality of Monaco supports young circus talents with the New Generation Festival. This fantastic competition takes place over two days in February and welcomes the best young international acts including acrobats, clowns, and animals to compete for the Gold, Silver and Bronze Junior awards. Pauline, the daughter of H.S.H Princess Stephanie, will continue the family legacy of this beloved event.
Finally, during the break, enjoy a glass of bubbly or a delicious lunch at the Cafe du Cirque.
